Poster for charity event

graphic design

I designed a poster for a charity event recently. I took part in the event myself, raising money for UK-MED Ukraine appeal. We paddled a marathon on surfboards (26 miles) along the coast from Kimmeridge Bay to Bournemouth Pier.

The poster I created

Our paddle was published on several websites and by our local newspaper.

The posters were placed around our local town in shops and cafes.

Big commission!

paintings

I have been commissioned to create something rather big! My biggest painting yet. It’s a 1.5 metres x 1 metre acrylic painting. I’ve been working on it for the last few weeks and I’m very excited to show you all. I do love a challenge, and this certainly hits the spot. Finding an easel was the tricky part, ha ha. I am lucky as my local University lent me one. I’m going to have to consider buying one myself as these large paintings are definitely becoming a more enticing hobby. Once It’s finished I’ll be posting it up on here so watch this space! Here’s some sneak peeks…

Jellyfish

paintings

The Jellyfish. I love this painting, it brings back a memory of when I used to swim in the sea in Cornwall and I saw one directly beneath me. It was quite a stormy day and I saw one of the lifeguards swim quite far out, so being a confident swimmer myself, I swam out a similar distance. However the tide was coming in so it was actually a lot deeper by the time I got out there. I was looking down as you would doing a front crawl stroke and noticed this giant pink and purple Jellyfish underneath me. It was very beautiful but I remember as soon as I saw it I did get a big adrenaline rush from feeling frightened. I was scared that if I took another stroke I might brush its tentacles! It probably wasn’t that close to me in reality, however, it still got my heart rate up. As you can imagine, I did swim very quickly back to shore.

The style of this painting reflects the movement and freedom of a Jellyfish. They are magnificent creatures, and it inspires me to paint more of them in a variety of colours.

I sold this painting to the lady who does a lot of sea swimming herself. She is very happy with it and has placed it in her lovely sea themed home.

Whale of a time.

paintings

Hi followers. I have some news! I’ve got back into painting, and really enjoying it. My most recent painting was a large whale with a swimmer in the depths of the ocean. The motive behind this painting was mainly my love for the sea and open water swimming. I also think that the whale of all sea life is the most magnificent and peaceful. I do hope it brings peace and happiness to those that see it, considering everything that is going on right now. I have also managed to sell this piece to a lovely lady in the UK (pictured below) who also has a passion for open water swimming. She loves it and has put the painting in her very cool sea themed kitchen! I’d like to do a jellyfish next, so watch this space. Have a great weekend folks.

BRAKEBURN AW19

print design

Hello folks. It’s been a while since I’ve posted something on my website. I promise from now on I’ll try my best to keep you updated! At this point in time, I am in the process of updating my website, as it was starting to look a bit dated! I am still working in-house for Brakeburn, an outdoor lifestyle brand based in Poole on the South Coast. I am now their Junior Print and Graphic designer rather than Assistant Print Designer, I was given this position earlier this year and am enjoying it. I design repeat patterns and placement graphics for mens and womens clothing and accessories as well as product/artwork for marketing material. They have recently released their Autumn Winter 19′ collection which I designed a number of prints for. You can see these designs using the Portfolio  link on my website.
