Here are some fun and bright prints I designed for Sunborne, an outdoor lifestyle kidswear brand based in Australia.

I am very happy with how these turned out! Since I started out as a print and graphic designer I have always loved being able to experiment with colour and vibrancy. My favourite prints to create are the ones that are bold and stand out, especially if they are a little abstract.

I have to say, I love designing for Australian brands in the winter months, it’s a reminder that the sunshine is always out somewhere on this planet, despite the terrible weather we are having here in England at the moment. Can’t wait for summer!

New Surf-Inspired Prints for Kidswear Brand

Just dropped! New surf inspired prints for Ava & Oliver, a well-established kidswear brand based in Hawaii. I really loved this project as I am a surfer myself and had a lot of fun drawing these little characters. My favourite part was drawing the dogs surfing and playing around with their positions on the board. I have seen dogs surfing before and it doesn’t look easy! Saying that though, if you have 4 feet rather than 2 like us humans, it’s probably easier to balance!

Happy avocados!

I was hired to design a print for a new babywear company called Tiny Blooms. The print features hand painted cute smiley avocados. I have to say, I am a sucker for an avocado! I even eat them on their own with a spoon (topped with some salt and pepper of course). So as you can imagine, I loved creating this design.

Hand painted bespoke print design request

I had a very unique and special request recently. I was asked to create a hand painted bespoke print for a wedding suit.

The print was to include whisky bottles and glasses, and although a little nervous about the idea since I had never painted glass before, I said yes! I absolutely loved this challenging project and would be keen to create another one like this if anyone would like a personalised print.

The client’s favourite whisky brands are included in the print (see below), each element has been created from the original whisky brand bottles. Can you spot your favourites?

Once I had created the back drop for the design. I hand painted the elements that were going on top:

I played around for a while with the placement of the paintings, I wanted to make sure the design wasn’t too busy and didn’t interrupt the background elements too much, the end result is below. The client was very happy with it!

Sealife inspired illustrations

Here are some illustrations that I did recently for Spiralis Energy, a company in the UK creating sustainable energy from moving water. I thoroughly enjoyed creating these! The first one (shown below) depicts a spiral of sealife, each element is hand drawn and placed in this format to depict a spiral of swimming sea creatures.

The second illustration (shown below) depicts a chilled out floating otter. The meaning behind this is because the tidal energy generator that Spiralis Energy have created, floats in the ocean, not like other tidal energy generators that are placed deep in the water or at the bottom of the ocean.

Designs for swimming brand

My first design for LIF (Last is Fast) is available to purchase! I always enjoy creating artwork for brands like LIF, as I love swimming myself and still swim regularly today. It’s a great sport for mental and physical well-being. As you can tell from a lot of my other blog posts and portfolio, I am what is known as a ‘water baby’, so any clients that ask about a water activity inspired print, whether that be surfing, jumping in a lake, or competitive swimming, I am always keen. Exciting news! I have been working with an outdoor swimming brand based in Bristol, UK. I was asked to create an illustration for a t-shirt inspired by swimming in the wild. I sketched a few different layouts and swimmers in different positions. We decided to go with the drawing as featured in the images below. I really enjoyed creating this for Wilda, they are a great brand that encourage people to get involved with open water swimming, an activity I also love.
