Swim, Surf & Skate Inspired Bedding Artworks

I’m so excited! My first collection for a bedding company is out now. I was asked by the lovely Jo’s Dreamland to design a range of artworks which included surfing, swimming, and skateboarding themes. I’ve mentioned a few times on previous posts that swimming and surfing has a big place in my heart and I get so much inspiration from it. I’ve also done a bit of skateboarding but I can’t say I am any good at it 🤣. I absolutely loved designing these artworks for this company. Thank you for working with me Jo’s Dreamland!

Designs for swimming brand

My first design for LIF (Last is Fast) is available to purchase! I always enjoy creating artwork for brands like LIF, as I love swimming myself and still swim regularly today. It’s a great sport for mental and physical well-being. As you can tell from a lot of my other blog posts and portfolio, I am what is known as a ‘water baby’, so any clients that ask about a water activity inspired print, whether that be surfing, jumping in a lake, or competitive swimming, I am always keen. Swimming badges

I am excited to announce that my first project with NOWCA (National Open Water Coaching Association) is now live. NOWCA is the UK’s largest network of safe open water swimming venues. I was asked to design the acheivement badges for their winter swimming sub 10 club 2024/25. This is when swimmers submerge into water below 10 degrees in the winter months. See images below of the designs and where they have been used on social media and NOWCA’s website.

Swing Tag Design

I was asked to design a swing tag for Wilda, an outdoor swimming brand based in Bristol in the UK. This design was inspired by wild swimming and water based activities. You can view the images below to see how it turned out as well as the original workings. I am super happy with it! Always a pleasure working with a brand that encourages swimming. As you will see on the about me page on my website, I love any water related activities, particularly swimming and surfing, I also use these outdoor activities as a way of gaining inspiration for my work. I also created artwork for stickers, surface pattern for packaging, and an illustration for a long sleeve t-shirt for this brand, with more to come!

I have experience designing graphics and surface pattern for packaging. My most recent project was with Wilda, an outdoor swimming brand based in the UK. I was limited to only one colour for this design but I loved the challenge and enjoyed creating a design that reflects Wilda’s brand aesthetic and values. I have also created designs for Wilda’s merchandise and products. Check them out in my portfolio.

This was my first time working with a swimwear brand. It’s been a pleasure working with this lovely team of people. Looking forward to new and exciting upcoming projects inspired by this amazing sport that has a very special place in my heart. I am a swimmer myself and really enjoy wild swimming and jumping in the pool.

Submerged

Paintings

Underwater studies. These paintings are based on photographs I took of myself underwater in the sea on the Isle of Wight. They are some of my oldest paintings but still my favourites. I think because they bring back memories of growing up on the Island and swimming in the sea all the time. It influenced a lot of my art throughout school and further studies. These paintings were a trio but sadly I’ve misplaced the third one. These were actually painted using oil paints which I’ve only used a handful of times.

A recent commission was perfect for me because I do a lot of sea swimming myself and I really got into the zone with this one. 1 metre by 1 metre. It’s acrylic – my favourite medium at the moment, it depicts my friend and I swimming at our favourite beach where you can see Old Harry’s Rocks. We often go before work (the best time to go as the beach is empty!). I’ve painted the famous rocks in too – as you can see in the top right corner. I hope you all like it!
