Inside the wave

Paintings

I was invited to a spontaneous paint night recently. I just got back from a surf trip in Costa Rica so I was feeling sea inspired… This wave went through many transformations! It took about 2 hrs but I could have easily carried on for another 10 if the class didn’t finish, haha. I wanted to suggest a fast moving ‘barrelling’ wave. It’s an amazing feeling when you are swimming or surfing and the wave closes out over you but you can still see through it. Maybe the essence of fish swimming too alongside the curve of the wave.

I might go back into this painting to make it more of a realistic wave, but I am enjoying how it looks in my bedroom right now. If anyone would like to purchase this painting, please message me directly using the contact tab at the top of my website.

Have a lovely day!

Tees for the mountains

graphic design

I designed a logo for 3 Peaks Rentals in Sun Peaks Ski Resort, BC, Canada. The branded t-shirts are in, and they look great! Here are a couple of pictures to showcase the new design, modelled by the lovely Gabs, who currently works for this company. This logo also features on the company’s website and has been used for other marketing purposes.

Bringing the outside in

Paintings

I’m really happy with how my wall mural has turned out for 3 Peaks Rentals! I now have some professional photos to show you. I have already posted about this painting but I feel these photos are worth talking about as they bring it to life and show the scale. The wall was 18ft high and had to be painted using scaffolding. You can see the process I went through in older posts below. I hope you like the pictures!

You can see the process I went through to create this wall mural by visiting my older blog posts. Please follow these links below:

A design for the trees

print design

When I was working as an in-house print designer for Kite, I designed a print inspired by trees local to the head office in Dorset. Kite teamed up with The Tree Council and I got to plant some trees which was a great day out and a fun project to be a part of. The products that were created through this collaboration raised money for this charity.

It’s that time of the year!

Paintings

It’s the festive season when little things around you remind you of all things Christmas. Here are some hand painted robins! Robins are one of my favourite festive birds because their red breast is always noticed amongst the trees and holly bushes. I love waking up in the mornings and hearing the birds, especially when it’s winter and snowing outside but I am cosy in bed with a hot chocolate. I am definitely a summer beach girl but winter certainly has it’s perks. Have a lovely Christmas everybody.

P.s. If you want to see more robins…

I have also created some robins for baby fashion. Instead of red and brown, they are pink! I created these designs for a lovely brand called ‘Kite’ in the south of the UK. They focus on being sustainable and environmentally friendly. My entire collection with Kite for Autumn Winter 2022 is available to view now at kite-clothing.com.

Hat patches inspired by Island in BC

graphic design

I recently designed some hat patches for a client in BC, inspired by Salt Spring Island. An island surrounded by beauty and art. I wanted to bring this across in my designs.

One of the designs is PU leather and the other an embroidery. See them below!

Wall mural progress

Paintings

Here are some pictures of the 18ft wall mural that I finished last week! So happy with how it turned out.

The height was definitely something to get used to, I had to use scaffolding and make sure I was keeping an eye on where I was putting my feet throughout the process!

It was a big challenge but also very exciting and rewarding. I hope I get to do this again one day.

What a lovely idea – bringing the outside in. Interior design is a lot of fun.

Once the room is furnished and decorated, I will be putting some more pictures up, so watch this space!

18ft Wall Mural

Paintings

I’m currently painting a wall mural! I’ve never been asked to paint one this big so it’s been an exciting challenge so far. I am absolutely loving it though! There are 2 walls that I’m painting, the tallest being 18ft! I’ve had to work on a scaffolding with 2 platforms. See how I’m progressing in the pics, and watch this space as I’ll be posting the finished piece soon!
