Vibrant Print Designs for Kidswear

Drawings/illustrations, graphic design, print design

Here are some fun and bright prints I designed for Sunborne, an outdoor lifestyle kidswear brand based in Australia.

I am very happy with how these turned out! Since I started out as a print and graphic designer I have always loved being able to experiment with colour and vibrancy. My favourite prints to create are the ones that are bold and stand out, especially if they are a little abstract.

I have to say, I love designing for Australian brands in the winter months, it’s a reminder that the sunshine is always out somewhere on this planet, despite the terrible weather we are having here in England at the moment. Can’t wait for summer!

Here are some of my favourites that I designed for the new collection:

New Surf-Inspired Prints for Kidswear Brand

Drawings/illustrations, print design

Just dropped! New surf inspired prints for Ava & Oliver, a well-established kidswear brand based in Hawaii. I really loved this project as I am a surfer myself and had a lot of fun drawing these little characters. My favourite part was drawing the dogs surfing and playing around with their positions on the board. I have seen dogs surfing before and it doesn’t look easy! Saying that though, if you have 4 feet rather than 2 like us humans, it’s probably easier to balance!

Check out some of the product photos below. I am super happy with how the prints have turned out! It’s always so rewarding and satisfying to see my artwork printed on product for people to purchase.

Ocean-Inspired Collaboration: Whale Shark Design

Drawings/illustrations, print design

I’m super happy to have designed this whale shark print for Ocean Armour, it’s always great to see my artwork come to life and this particular design is one of my favourites.
As a freelance Print & Graphic Designer, I was asked to create a custom design for a buff, inspired by the majestic whale shark. This project was a lot of fun and a personal favourite, especially since the ocean is a huge influence in so much of my work.

Ocean Armour has a great range of products where sustainability is at the core of everything they do: oceanarmour.com.au.

Coastal inspired designs

Drawings/illustrations, graphic design, print design

Happy Friday everyone! I wanted to share with you some recent illustrations and prints that I have created inspired by coastal life and the ocean in particular. We get a lot of seagulls here in the south of England, so you will see an appearance of those in the artwork below. I hope you like them. Please get in touch if you want to purchase any of my work from my shop. You can also contact me for custom print designs and graphics. I have over 6 years experience designing prints and graphics for clothing, accessories and merchandise, as well as branding and logo design.

I have been lucky enough to have lived by the coast for most of my life and it has influenced a lot of my work. See my about me page to learn more.

Have a great weekend!

Let me paint you something.

Paintings

Hello! I am available for commission if anyone would like me to paint them something. Are you trying to find the right gift for your loved one this Christmas? I can help! I mostly gain inspiration from nature, particularly the ocean but I am open to anything! You can send me a photograph or send me some ideas and I will create a unique piece of art for you. I have attached some photos of my paintings. I work directly onto canvas in a range of sizes. Please get in touch for any enquiries and prices.

Here are some reviews I have received from past clients:

“Can highly recommend Paige Critchley Designs if looking for a commissioned painting. I love this painting, based on a photo from one of our early morning sea swims, that she did for me last year – takes pride of place in my lounge!” Mandy J – November 2023

“Over the moon with a new painting from the amazingly talented Paige Critchley. Find her work at Paige Critchley Designs. She is also responsible for my marvellous self portrait of me swimming with a humpback whale.” Charlie P – May 2021

Thanks and have a great day.

On display in Common Loaf Bakery, Tofino.

Paintings

I’m very happy to announce that 2 of my paintings are up on display in Common Loaf Bakery a friendly bakery and Cafe in Tofino, B.C. Canada. I lived in Tofino earlier this year, it’s such a beautiful place and I gained a lot of inspiration from it, particularly because I spent a lot of time by the ocean, including surfing and exploring the coastline. My fondest memory before I left Vancouver Island was the hike I partook in along the west coast (The West Coast Trail) which also provided me with endless influences.

I have included some images below showing the paintings on display. I have a new ‘paintings’ tab at the top of my website where you can view all the paintings I have sold or created for commission. I am open to commissions at the moment so please get in touch if you have something in mind. I am experienced in creating nature inspired paintings, particularly the ocean and landscapes.

I hope you are having a great week so far!

Inside the wave

Paintings

I was invited to a spontaneous paint night recently. I just got back from a surf trip in Costa Rica so I was feeling sea inspired… This wave went through many transformations! It took about 2 hrs but I could have easily carried on for another 10 if the class didn’t finish, haha. I wanted to suggest a fast moving ‘barrelling’ wave. It’s an amazing feeling when you are swimming or surfing and the wave closes out over you but you can still see through it. Maybe the essence of fish swimming too alongside the curve of the wave.

I might go back into this painting to make it more of a realistic wave, but I am enjoying how it looks in my bedroom right now. If anyone would like to purchase this painting, please message me directly using the contact tab at the top of my website.

Have a lovely day!
